Bear Valley Church: A local church with a global impact!

We are the original “Church Unleashed!”
When we speak of unleashing people, we are talking about reaching the world for Christ through multidimensional ministries and missions. We love to participate in fulfilling the challenge Jesus gave all His followers to “go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:18-20). We participate in and support all elements of missions and ministry through a variety of “partnerships” engaging us in evangelism, discipleship training, mercy ministries, Christian camping, education, water and sanitation projects, Bible translation, immigrants assistance, legal aid, medical assistance, mentoring of at-risk children and youth, anti-sex trafficking, global pastors’ training, prison ministries, food assistance, etc.

Our goal is to alleviate suffering and bring the life-transforming hope of the Gospel locally, nationally and internationally!

Move the World

What is Move the World?
Bear Valley’s Move the World program is an innovative grantmaking program that funds special needs at ministries around the world and mission trips by BVC members.  It supplements Bear Valley’s monthly support of fifty established mission partners by awarding grants to meet one-time needs, with an emphasis on developing ministries.

Who receives Move the World grants?
Since its start in 2002, Move the World has awarded hundreds of grants totaling more than $2.4 million.  Move the World grants support new and developing ministries, special projects by existing mission partners, and mission trips by BVC members.  In 2022, the impact of Move the World was felt around the world, from Ukraine, China, India, Africa, & South America to right here in the U.S.

Where does Move the World’s funding come from?
Designated gifts from Bear Valley family and friends provide most of the funding for Move the World grants, with a supplemental allocation from BVC’s general budget.  To make a gift for Move the World, be sure to specify “Move the World” when you give.

Who makes Move the World grant decisions?
The seven-member Move the World team is made up of two pastors, two deacons, and three at-large members who are elected at BVC’s annual meeting in December.  The MTW team meets monthly to consider grant requests.
