Where did you grow up?
I grew up on a cattle ranch and wheat farm in south central Kansas.
How and when were you called into ministry?
When I was in college God spoke to me from John 21. Repeatedly He said, “Feed my sheep.” Repeatedly I replied, “I don’t know how to feed your sheep.” And so together we embarked on a training path that included many hours of Bible study, mentoring and ministry. I am clearly called to shepherd. It has been an adventure watching Him move me from one hillside of sheep to another, always with the same calling and with the same kind leading of Him as my Shepherd.
What’s your passion in ministry?
My passion is for people to experience the kindness and love of Jesus, whether it is a non-believer, someone wounded by and afraid of His church, or believers who need to encounter Him in their experience of ministry. I view myself as a connecter – someone who is available to connect folks to Jesus or to connect believers into living out their gifts and passion in service to Him.
Favorite Bible verse and why?
Isaiah 58:10 – 12. Because this is another passage that God has used to lead and encourage me since I was in college. It is by pouring ourselves out for the hungry that our lights (His light) rise in the darkness of this world.
Spare time activities you enjoy?
Time with family and friends, reading, water – whether in or on the ocean, swimming on a hot, summer day, or paddle boarding, water renews and restores me, and vegging out in front of the television.
Favorite place you’ve visited?
I love seeing and experiencing new places, so I can’t pick a favorite. I have loved them all!
Something most people don’t know about me?
I’m a pretty open book, so unfortunately, I don’t think there are as many unknowns as there probably should be!
Favorite book other than the Bible?
Whatever I’m reading at the time.
