Student Pastor/Ministry Leader (6th–12th Grade) — Full-Time

Bear Valley Church (BVC) is an Evangelical church in Lakewood, CO, with a
mission to lead people to know, love, and follow Jesus. We are a transformed
community seeking to bless and influence our neighbors and the world with the Gospel.
As we continue to pursue what God is doing in and through our church, we are excited
to hire our next full-time Student Pastor/Ministry Leader to lead our 6th–12th grade
ministry through a meaningful season of rebuilding, growth, outreach, and discipleship.
Position Summary
The Student Pastor/Ministry Leader provides vision, leadership, and hands-on
shepherding for all student ministry (6th–12th grade) at Bear Valley Church. As a
member of the pastoral team, this role is responsible to lead, shepherd, and protect the
church—especially as it relates to students and families—while building strong teams
and creating ministry environments where students can encounter Christ, belong in
community, and take next steps in their faith.
Bear Valley Students currently gathers Sunday nights (6:00–8:00 PM) and includes
worship, teaching, and small groups.
This role is ideal for a leader who feels called to:

Compensation
Salary range: $55,000 – $70,000 (commensurate with education, experience, and
qualifications).
Benefits include: HRA health reimbursement, employer retirement contribution, paid
holidays, paid vacation / sick time.
Key Responsibilities
- Disciple & Reach Students (Middle School + High School)
- Build a relational, outreach-oriented culture where students are known,
cared for, and discipled - Teach God’s Word faithfully and help students take next steps with Jesus
- Lead weekly youth gatherings, small groups, and seasonal events (retreats, service projects, camps, missions opportunities (local and global))
- Develop student leaders and create pathways for spiritual growth, belonging, and mission
- Build a relational, outreach-oriented culture where students are known,
- Lead & Equip Volunteer Leaders
- Recruit, train, and empower adult, parent, and college-age leaders who
disciple students - Build a healthy volunteer culture through encouragement, communication,
coaching, and shepherding - Establish strong ministry systems for planning, follow-up, and consistent
care
- Recruit, train, and empower adult, parent, and college-age leaders who
- Partner with Parents
- Communicate clearly and consistently with parents regarding ministry
vision, events, and opportunities - Equip parents as the primary disciplers of their children through resources,
training, and encouragement - Align with the Vision of Bear Valley Church
- Collaborate with the pastoral team to support church-wide vision and
ministry strategy - Maintain alignment with BVC’s mission, values, and doctrinal
commitments - Pursue personal spiritual growth, leadership development, and healthy
ministry rhythms

- Organized and forward-thinking—able to plan ahead and manage multiple
priorities with excellence
Qualifications
- A mature and evident relationship with Jesus Christ
- 2–4 years of student ministry experience (volunteer or vocational) preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and platform teaching)
- Ability to lead and manage ministry events, volunteers, and weekly rhythms
- Ability to complete background checks and follow youth safety policies and best practices
